One of my favorite Patek releases in recent years. I love the in-line QP display, and the brushed dial and how light plays on it.

One of my favorites as well...
...but when trying it on it was a bit on the unbalanced side on my 7.25" wrist. It would be near-perfect in stainless steel (I wish) : )

I have to strap it tightly. But it’s more wearable than the platinum Dato!

Wow ... that's not what i would have expected for a 100K+ watch ...
I would may be need to look at my PP(s) see if they have similar finishing on the dial side.
I wonder if you could not simply show that to your AD and ask for the second hand to be changed ... In France it might be easier as we directly have a Salon so we are in direct contact with the brand but might be worth a try.
It’s not visible under naked eyes so doesn’t bother me much.
I do need to stop by the Henri Stern agency to service another watch and will ask about the second hand on this 5236P too!
Beautiful watch, notwithstanding the seconds hand
A very special release, my favorite PC that is in the lineup.
And I have zero doubt that you could get the seconds hand swapped.
That said, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the movement.
The finishing of the movement is nice but not spectacular.
I’d expect more for a grand complication from Patek that cost six figure. At least, give us some inward angles 😅

Terrific photos! I would also agree that such finishing is substandard for such a heralded piece.
Thanks for posting your honest assessment. I've received top notch service from the professionals at the Henri Stern Agency in the past and I'm sure they will be eager to address this deficiency.

Thank you for those terrific photos. Regardless of the design I am very disappointed that Patek is allowing this to happen. Attention to detail is a fundamental requirement. To me failing to maintain standards is symptomatic of so many companies in all manner of industries where growth and profit is pursued at the expense of quality. Failure to maintain quality will sooner or later sink the ship. Of course in the short to medium term such businesses trade upon their reputation but that can never be maintained once the reputation for quality is lost.
All Patek passionistas should be raging at the company and forcing a change before the real rot sets in.
Sorry for the rant - I’m just so upset by that seconds hand. I would not expect such sloppy execution in a £200 Citizen

but I'm really shocked that this lousy hand passed the PP quality control. This would never happen by a watch from Lange.

Unfortunately, we become unpleasantly surprised when viewing with a loupe and photographing in macro.
I usually avoid doing both and hope I haven't banged up my watches too bad.
Now, though, since you've seen the small second hand, the finishing won't go away like magic or go away in your mnd.
I would have it looked at, especially so, because it's a Patek and that should mean something.
This in a smaller case with better finishing would have been the perfect Patek.
It's a really attractive watch, it's a shame that they're cost cutting with the subpar finishing for the price that you pay...

Congrats on your acquisition, just put mine under a loupe and thankfully there was no defect.
Above thread was posted previously, suboptimal quality control is not new, glad we have GLau as moderator who is objective. Not sure if it is the same with all moderators
