Never easy to choose a top five of anything. And it’s never going to be easy when you’re choosing your all-time top five for a brand such as Patek Philippe. The history of Patek is so rich that choosing even a top-10 it’s quite a feat. This was no easy task for sure. Making my decisions I thought about technical aspects the complexity of the movement signature complications and what is the DNA of Patek. Most of all though for me personally it is the aesthetics of a watch that is the most important part. Looking at these pieces fills my eyes with joy. Of all the complications made by Patek Philippe perhaps the world time and the perpetual calendar Chronograph or perhaps the two most widely revered.
I hope you enjoy my top five and I’ll be delighted to know what will be yours.
Let me think about it, but the Chrono sector dial 130 is very much my taste, as well as the World Time ( last photo ) and are probably both in my top 5.
A terrific selection Imran -- I'd love to own a 2523 or any other vintage Rare Handcraft Patek, it would be a new interesting journey...not that I mind your other four pieces though! ;-) Enjoy.
The enamel WT and 130 are amongst the top 5 for me.
Since I am more familiar with and fond of recent productions, I would add the Grand Master Chime, 5531R, and, to no surprise, the 5089G Rousseau enamel lion 🦁 !!
With your 5196 and 5970 you can afford to be lost: two of the finest
