This beauty currently retails for 17,470 euros (MRSP) in Italy, which includes a 22% IVA. Good luck in seizing it, he won't regret it one second!😁

thank you Fab5119R for the price and your support. [nt]

As a data point, I put an order for one at the end of March.

I’ve got a long purchase history with my AD, and there are 9 people in front of me right now. My AD says they get 3-4 per year from Patek. Perhaps some of the people in front of me will cancel, change their mind, or have already received the watch from another AD they also put their name with, but it looks like it will be approximately 2 years before I get the call. This is in the US. Perhaps your friend will get lucky, but I tend to doubt it. This watch is becoming very hard to get. Tiffany in NY closed their order book on this one because it’s 5 years out based on the number of watches they get. They said 5164 is catching up with it, too.

Of course, your friend could always pay an expedite tax by paying above retail from a grey market dealer who has one on hand. Best of luck in your search.

Hi BMR. I do appreciate your feedbacks. [nt]

I was looking for a different stainless steel Patek, the discontinued 5960/1A-010 and had really no luck with ADs.
I was thinking the gray market was going to be my only option. And then I called one AD in my neighboring state and I got lucky that the person I spoke to was willing to work with me even though I had no prior relationship. I realize my watch is different from the one that your friend wants. But have him keep on looking, you never know when an AD is willing to make the sale.

we are keeping our fingers crossed [nt]

my advice to your friend to buy it from the greys now when the sales is slower, the chances are very good that this model will be avaliable on double MSRP at the grey morket soon. [nt]

Another thing to consider is that by the time one comes in (a few years) the probability that Patek will have raised prices is also pretty high maybe even more than once.

They could do what they did with the 5711 this past year even, which was a 20% increase. I’d say if he wants one quickly and you can find a grey dealer that will sell you one at around +20% above retail, he might be smart to jump on it. I will confess I haven’t looked at what these are going for in the grey market recently so that may be way too low. I might end up waiting two years and pay that price anyway if Patek does a similar increase as they did on 5711 & 5712. Anything is possible I guess so it all depends on how bad he wants it now and how much over retail he is willing to go. I’m not in any big hurry, I like to have my name on the papers, and it bothers me to pay the grey market premium on principle so I will wait. If it doesn’t work out, it simply wasn’t meant to be.

It’s pretty much the same thing for him. He’d prefer to have all the papers with his name [nt]

You will be very lucky if you find one at the MSRP

The London Boutique has closed its list for 5167 as it has a 5 years waiting time if purchased from them. You never know though, you may find one at an AD.

Good luck

Ok I got it. This is crazy. [nt]

Your friend will definitely like wearing and buying one 5167a.

 By: geross : May 23rd, 2018-14:36
Its the most comfortable watch in my opinion. I find myself lucky to have one.

Good luck. wink
Geross.

If he is willing to pay an extra $5,000 then he can probably find the 5167 on bracelet easier.

I called my AD and asked to be put on the list and they had an unclaimed 5167/1A. He said I could have that one.

Ok. I’ve read it’s not easy to change the bracelet for a rubber. Do you have any experience ? [nt]

It is easy you just order the rubber strap and the deployant which will cost $1,700. The AD will change it for you.

The only problem is that you are paying $24,000 for a $19,000 watch. Nobody wants the $3,000 bracelet.

that might be the less expensive solution [nt]
