Where I live we already see too many idiots driving at twice the speed limits in full size trucks. I also can't wait to see EV accident rates rise when these cars are fully autonomous. Next, legislature will impose speed limiters on these cars because people cannot control themselves. Just plain ridiculous...
As I write this California is pushing for requiring limiters in all cars sold in nanny-land. Historically that means that if the bill passes the entire nation may follow suit. Insane.

As you know, power isn’t dangerous in itself, it’s the inappropriate use of it. I see people driving cars with a relatively small amount of horsepower doing crazy stuff. You can just as easily kill someone at 30mph as at 80mph in the wrong circumstances. I remember the McLaren F1 road car being launched in 1992 and going out in one of the first cars. People at the time said that it was ridiculous to have a road car with 618hp.

Yes, of course. Tell that to that 22-year old who just got a 500 hp M4 before he wraps himself around a tree. Better yet, tell that to the average Tesla driver (a lot older than 22) who thinks they are driving a rocket ship weaving in and out of lanes at twice the speed limits. These are not responsible people with proper driver education and driving experience. There are less and less of those as years go by.

Me too! I was talking just the other day with my daughter (whom for some weird reason she loves Porsche) how much I would love to go back on the track!
