Both are distinctly modern, especially the Patek . . .
. . . on account of its bi-level dial script, a design choice which seems to be proliferating. Dornblüth dials can be specified . . .
. . . with sunken markers and dial script. A bit difficult to make out in this photo, but all the script and markers are bi-level.

Classic size, Rothko-like feature totally unnecessary (now that the watches are really water-tight) and therefore totally indispensable.

Full agreement - was unsure at beginning but the SD43 had been growing on me. The red detailing is charming and reminiscent of past reds … and the slightly bigger size makes it more of a tool and less dress-y IMHO
