Superb selection of dials …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : March 11th, 2022-13:29
So many special dials on these watches to choose from. I especially love the vintage Speedmaster and Rolex.

Thanks a lot dear Captain for your kind comments. Glad you like the vintage watches dials. Sometimes dials like the one of my early Submariner ref 5512 are subject of debate:...

 By: Subexplorer : March 11th, 2022-14:59
... as some people consider it "interesting patina" and others "unaceptable decay", Lol! I personally have mixed emotions about these extreme dials but in this particular case and considering it belongs to an early 5512 liked the overall character of the watch as it was found.
Look forward to know some of your favorite dials dear Captain! Have a nice weekend! Abel

Rolex gilt dial and tropical.

Wow dear Bill!! What a selection you share here!! Gilt and tropical are words which sound as music for vintage aficionados! Not easy to choose just one ... or even two pieces among...

... your wonderful choices for this weekend.

Anyway I will say that I´m specially fond of your 5512 with minutes track variant and that fabulous Concord GMT ... but wait! and that beautiful brown red Sub. Stunning shots as usual including your signature "near the sea" background ones.

Thank you for sharing these beauties!! Best cordial regards, Abel

Just one … I hope you don’t mind

As finally the sun came out in Germany I took the chance to take a closer picture of the dial of the Corrigia01 with its vintage black dial. If you zoom in u see a bit of the details of it. Besides this faded out blackish grey dial it has some kind of round lume marks on the dial like dust. Similar to vintage watches which had several services, water entries etc …

Looks like a solid workhorse.

Haha. Great expression 😂👍🏽

 By: Ahoi : March 12th, 2022-17:54

Thank you for these pictures dear Ahoi! This watch has a very strong character and looks like a vintage veteran of many dives. Very interesting dial which adds to its vintage looks.

Keep enjoying it so much my dear friend! Hagwe! Abel

Aaaahhh. The Corriga!

 By: MTR : March 12th, 2022-22:47
I have already missed it.

It ages very well.

I'm still thinking about ordering it.

Stunning photos by the way. ☺️🙏

Cheers
Thomas

The Corrigia01 is actually sold out.

He is working on the prototype for a new bronze collection with a different movement and dials as mine though. And a pretty interesting series of black DLC watches and steel version in which u can take of the crown guard by yourself … they look really good on my point of view.

And that Omega WT! wow.

Thanks Abel for hosting WS. I esp. like the red Reverso.

 By: brauner : March 12th, 2022-16:47
I had this Reverso when it came out but sold it. A big mistake.

Thank you Brauner for your kind comments. Well all collectors have our regrets of selling some pieces. I feel that still it is not so difficult to get one Rouge if you feel the need some day.

Thank you again! Abel

What a stunning collection

 By: MTR : March 12th, 2022-16:50
you show us here, dear Abel.

This fantastic Rolex with this beautifully aged dial, the JLC Worldtimer, the red dialed Reverso…

I have to confess I was rather surprised by the impressive wrist presence of your Omega Speedmaster Blue Side of the Moon. And you know already, that I am a big fan of the Omega Worldtimer in steel.

Many thanks for showing us these marvels.
All the best, my friend and HAGWE
Thomas

Thank you so much Thomas for your kind comments on my selection for this weekend. Regarding my Moon Phase Speedmaster it is the more common steel case version which I own...

 By: Subexplorer : March 12th, 2022-22:49
... since a few years ago. I fell in love with it just after viewing its mesmerizing dial which I feel is the same (or very similar) to the Blue Side of the Moon ceramic case.
And yes, I know we share the love for the Omega WT, of which you own the stunning gold case version. A great dial in both versions indeed.
It´s my big pleasure to share this selection here my dear friend. Abel

My pleasure, dear Abel!

 By: MTR : March 12th, 2022-23:21
As far as I remember the Speedmaster Moonphase in steel has a better WR than the ceramic version. So a very practical and still similar beautiful choice. ☺️🙏

Cheers
Thomas

Your Panerai with that light & creamy dial is a sort of exotic, but compelling example.
Very captivating also your Omega Word Timer, with its cool dial !
And of course we share a common love for the splendid JLC Universal Time !

- well chosen, my friend & Best,
hs smile smile

Agree, the dial is probably the defining element of a watch…

… so let me join with my all time favorite, the Blancpain Flyback Split Second A’Toute Vitesse.

The two different types of finish, the hand painted numerals, the clarity, balance and colors… it’s simply outstanding imho.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Henrik

I always liked this Blancpain 👍
