Normally I would agree with them, but this time I agree with you! The date of 253 just looks bizarre.

+1, this black enamel is lovely, too bad for the date window, plus the movement is too small to have a date window that would be in lieu of the 3 o'clock Index
Agreed on the movement size, but without the date, it would have been less noticeable.

I think we are often overcritical regarding date windows,
but with such a pure design, it just doesn't work, imo.

As I wrote, let's not be overcritical:
even with the date window, the 5177 remains a fantastic and beautiful watch, imo. But I think I would love it even more without the date window. Please don't let our nit-picking considerations alter your happiness with this watch in any way!

The 7787 is beyond charming in all it's forms, particularly with an enamel dial.
I have the wg and an ex would just refer to it as "the charming one".

Love the no-date moonphase version. I do think they should trim the tail of the seconds hand a bit on both versions.

Anyone knows that they can do the version with no date, but I'm fine with the date, I don't need it (the watch, I mean).
What's embarrassing are those hands in the moon phases, the power reserve should be completely redesigned and not hung where's some room available
