Just got last week it’s better than expected, at first glance it just so so. After few days of wearing more and more impressive, Titanium bracelets quite comfortable to wear, it’s actually pretty nice.
I particularly like the dial and the hour and minute hands, which seem to be shaped like a pair of compasses used for navigation - a nice link to the maritime theme.
Two questions, please. Where on the dial is the guillochage to which the "Swiss Guilloche Main" refers? And what is the symbol on the seconds hand counter-balance?
I think they cut where the Breguet name is, the date window perhaps, and possibly some dial texture. As for the second hand, they claim it's a "subtle marine detail" so maybe a pennant?
These all wear the same inscription (as do most Breguet watches)
I think the appeal of the Breguet Marine is more apparent after wearing. The dial is fun and appealing, even though it uses an avant-garde design.
There are two areas of guilloche, both cut with a straight line engine. The first is the brand and serial number designation on the dial. The other is on the movement in which guilloche lines are added between the Geneva stripes.
