What a great story on a great watch. Its sad your mate cannot use his watch. Maybe a watchwinder could help on this?
Seems like the story on the hesalite glass is true, it is in many cases better than crystal when talking about breaking. For sure you get the scatches. But them I can live with.
My expereience on the non chronometer movement is between 2-4 sec/day, this on a watch that my father did not use for 20 years before I inherited it last year..
But I am happy my father purchased the exoensive version with the steel bracelet. That the only way I k now I would use it as much as I do

I believe Jeviar is referring to printing on the dial . . .
. . . which isn't apparent in the photos, most likely obscured by the crystal. 'Swiss Made' was usually printed near the 6 o'clock marker. Best, Art
