You are right - difficult to resist. I was all set to send my standard response declining the offer to sell me this watch until I saw the pictures. Next thing you know it was paid for and on its way to me.

i think the price v value issue is not relevant in the vintage market as they have already reached their bottom value so will always go up in value should you ever want to sell it in the future. the older it gets, the less there will be. rarity=desirabili...

Such a truly magnificent dial! I am slightly puzzzled by the fixed lugs. Is that common for a watch of that period and for a rather dressy look (not a screw back, I imagine, judging from the lightness of the case & lugs and and from the precious metal...

This case style was associated with fixed lugs (don't really know the reason behind it) in both tissot gold plated cases and solid gold omega cases. And it is a snapback case which I would agree typically does not go with fixed lugs but there you go...
