Vintage Omega Seamaster

Happy Thanksgiving all!  I received a wonderful family gift from my aunt after Thanksgiving dinner tonite - a vintage steel Omega Seamaster that was given to her husband by my grandfather in 1962.  I am a vintage JLC and Patek guy but totally new to Omega. I had a few questions for any vintage Seamaster experts out there willing to help:

1-does Omega offer an archive service?
2-any opinions on Omega's own vintage restoration service?  The watch is in amazing condition but certainly needs an overhaul and a new crystal.  Am debating local watchmaker vs Omega
3-is there a previous thread that folks can point me to that discusses the dial variants on vintage Seamasters.  I will look into the movement and case reference numbers once a professional opens up the watch.  This piece has a date function at 3 o'clock and applied gold indices with the ones at 12, 6, 9 o'clock also having a black stripe on the gold index.  It is signed Omega Automatic Seamaster on the dial

Many thanks!
