Unfortunately, not enough details here to make a fair complaint.

We don't know how you sent it.  How it was packaged.  And where you shipped it to.  An Omega service center?  An Omega authorized service center?  Other?  You're very vague, and I have to make assumptions regarding the details.  Unfortunately this is very unfair to Omega.  And if you took photos of the watch before you sent it in, you need to corroborate those photos with Omega or have proof that they were photos taken just before the watch was sent in.

You also didn't explicitly mention that you bought the watch used.  But if one reads your posting, one can derive that you bought the watch used.  The fact that the watch is recently purchased used is not entirely relevant, but it could be.

Considering you have photos without the scratch, and considering that the service center has the photos with the scratch, then it's just a classic he said this and the other party said that.  Furthermore, your photos could be from the seller of your used watch that you used as your claimed reference photos.  These would not be fair photos since too much time has passed.

How would you all handle the situation?

I'm always extremely specific with how I have my watches serviced.  I drop them off at a dealer.  The dealer photographs the condition of the watch.  I have to trust the dealer's photographs are representative and thorough.

If the watch comes back scratched, then you ask your dealer to act as your agent to counter with the vendor.  I can understand it's difficult to go to a dealer, you may not live in close proximity to one, COVID may make a visit an unnecessary risk, and it may be difficult to get service if you bought the watch used and not from an authorized dealer - some dealers are reluctant to facilitate service for watches that didn't come from authorized sources.

And finally, you need to be very specific of what you want done - have empathy for the watch company - don't expect them to call you and ask you questions, you need to take responsibility and answer Omega's questions.  I can tell you made a lot of assumptions, for instance your comparison with Rolex - why is Omega similar to Rolex?  Why do you assume that Omega will polish the watch because Rolex phoned you to ask?    You convey your expectation to us, but did you convey your expectations to Omega?  Seems like you just sent the watch in and asked for a service.  Which is what Omega did.  And you assumed that Omega would call you and ask if you wanted the watch polished because Rolex phoned you about polishing.  Your assumptions that two very different brands would operate similarly is unfair and illogical.

I'm taking the liberty to lock this thread.  Simply because WPS doesn't allow new members to make complaints.  Your first post was already partially a complaint about Blancpain service - you suspected them of incorrectly servicing your bezel and you claimed the bezel felt different.  And now your 31st post is another complaint about Omega.  We appreciate your participation and I understand you will feel that this is censorship, but two complaints in 31 posts is a 6% average, it's a little high.  We'd like you to build up your credibility first.  Furthermore, your argument has many contradictions and is based off unfair assumptions and we can't prove either way if the watch was damaged at Omega or if it was damaged in transit.

We're all very sad that this happened to your watch.  And we hope that you're able to find a resolution.  And we hope that you'll learn from this incident and be a bit more careful in future servicing.  Last but not least, service is the worse part of every watch experience.  I'd say servicing is bad at many brands, even including Patek Philippe which has had complaints on WPS.  It's definitely an area many brands can improve in.  Good luck!

Has anyone had issues with Omega servicing recently?

I recently received my Seamaster 300 Chronograph GMT back from a full service and noticed that it had a very deep scratch on the top left lug and side near the helium escape valve. Not only this, the watch was running +7 seconds fast per day. Needless to ...

I had my SMP 300 serviced by the Swatch Group facility in Culver City recently and everything went great

Service can be hit or miss even with the best of brands… sounds like you are unfortunately on the wrong side of a miss. They should at a minimum offer to polish out the scratch.
