Omega Seamaster for London 2012 (time only) is a beauty
When James Dowling said this was a beauty, he didn't have any pictures to back it up. Now I know why - and it's not the oft photographed chronograph. It is a real tribute to the classic seamaster chronometres from the early 1950s. Thanks to NicoH for the picture.

...but I think Omega is trying too hard here. My guess is that the changes from the original as noted here relate more to the engineering realities of the modern co-axial movement. I agree that a center seconds version would have looked better in this mod...

Yes. I think it's a beatiful piece as well. Have never seen an original 1948 subsecond, just the central sweep version. Hope it's not too large. PS. You can stil lfind those pics from the old Omega site here: http://www.samo-bienne.ch/en/geschichte/geschi...
