Hi Michael very cool indeed. ..... Any hint on the size of this watch.... I can only guess its looks to be 39 mm or so in diameter not counting lugs or crown. My guess is based on the location of the sub seconds register.. . If it is 39 mm , it will wear ...

that high placed sub-dial just doesn't quite work for me. A giveaway sign of a movement in a case that is just a little too large for it. I do love the railroad minute track, the leaf hands, the applied markers and logo. There are a lot of very nicely exe...

with the previous threads - the sub-second dial is too high and it looks like a small movement in a large case - this is where centre seconds dials look better. Nice try though. Cheers

i notice how close the sub second is to the centre which is similar to the current Deville Chronometer and looks all out of synch as if the movement is too small for the case. i think i need to see more before making a final prognosis. Graham

The case is a bit too large for the movement it seems but the most important point is that omega would consider making a homage piece like this - it probably uses the same or very similar cal. 2202 movement in the centenary museum piece in a larger case -... 

The fact that we as well as many others are keeping on affectionately discussing vintage models as well as on a large scale exchanging photo's will not go unnoticed in Bienne. This, plus their rich available heritage can very well be a source of inspirati... 

...but I think Omega is trying too hard here. My guess is that the changes from the original as noted here relate more to the engineering realities of the modern co-axial movement. I agree that a center seconds version would have looked better in this mod... 

It's almost a re-issue of the original 1948 Seamaster Chronometre pictured below. My guess they're playinf of the fact that the last Olympic games in London were in 1948. I really like it.

Hi Peitron Thanks for posting. Spent the last hour looking for a backup copy of this photo, Omega used it on the "old" web site years ago . It was also used in multiple Omega publications over the years. Funny thing is I actually only came across the Rail...  

Yes. I think it's a beatiful piece as well. Have never seen an original 1948 subsecond, just the central sweep version. Hope it's not too large. PS. You can stil lfind those pics from the old Omega site here: http://www.samo-bienne.ch/en/geschichte/geschi...

Looks elegant and macho at the same time. One regret, though: the small second is a bit too centered, I would have preferred seeing it replacing the 6. Best, Nicolas.
