The sticking point from my perspective . . .
. . . is the tapered crown. The design is purportedly functional - easier to manipulate than a straight-edged crown. I tried working both types of crowns earlier this year side-by-side in real time and could not tell a difference between them in terms of ease of use.
However, there's a noticeable difference aesthetically.
My preference, based on historicity as well as aesthetic considerations, is for a straight-edged crown. A tapered crown might be marginally easier to use. However, I'm not sure how long it would take for my aesthetic sensibilities to come to terms with the unprecedented design.
