Seamaster Planet Ocean.. 8500 vs the 8900..Which would you choose?

My favorite watch in my small collection is the PO 8500, I also prefer it over the newer versions as i like the deep black dial and the matte black bezel. The master chronometer in the newer versions though is tempting! The 8900 in the photo is my good friends who also happens to be my boss. The rubber straps are amazing on both watches. Extremely comfortable. There is just something about the Planet Ocean line that i think is so underrated and extremely great value. I also would take over a submariner any day of the week. I know not a popular opinion among this site and WIS in general but that is my opinion.

Interested to hear what the Omega community has to say!

I still think it is underrated in the US market as the only people I have seen with one in person is my boss and the manager at the local boutique!

This is one of the reasons I like it so much as I don't see anyone else with one on!! The 8500 definitely has a strong Bond or Tool watch feel that I truly enjoy everytime I put it on! Also very few members here show them... I also have a newer Aqua Terra...

Personally I would pick the 8900 because the new master chronometer movement are amazing and I also like the color accent...again very personal choice. Both are great
