hi Arthur, did not know there was a touching story behind your Omega cal.751. when my day passed away, i asked him not to pass me anything including his Longines quartz watch because he had spent part of his savings for my overseas study during his earlie...

they date from about 67-70ish and are really nice pieces. i had one in 18kt with an 18kt bracelet. too blingy for me so i let it go. in retrospect i should have kept the watch and let the bracelet go as they look really good on brown or black leather. the... 

I have a brown matt like strap on my connie now. Omega gave me a black sheen sheep thin sheep skin strap but I didn;t quite like that. will post a pic for you soon.

Hi Catherine... We have a code of conduct on the forums and they are enforced the same way across all of the forums. To ask for any moderator to determine on a link by link basis is a monumental task. On your comment about a "milk monitor" is in poor form... 

....sometimes you visit so many sites you can get confused and forget your not on a free flowing one...you know the ones i'm sure...the ones where info of that ilk are left to run because watch info is the biggest draw. Catherine.

Hi Bill, thanks for posting very nice 18k 751 Connie. i read there is small letters something like this "OM SWISS MADE OM" at the 6 o'clock position which differs with what i have on my Connies. may i know what the "OM" stands for? thanks so much in advan... 

which from what I can recall means you case is solid 18K gold. Mine micron plated hence the lack of OM.

I ahev to try to find the links again. It explaisn clarly what OM stands for and means.

Om stands for  "or massif" and this means "solid gold" and describes the material of the dial, not the case! best Erich

Thanks for sharing the story behind such a great watch. I also have a gold capped (plated) vintage Omega left to me when my Dad died. It is a 1966 Seamaster 30 that my Mum gave him for their wedding. Similarly to yourself, my parents were not wealthy peop...  

And thanks for chiming in... the old omega has its charm definitely... I'm actually tiring of some of my new acquisitions but the old constellation and oyster handed down... not fancy by any measure but I just like knowing I have them and how I got them..... 

They will inherit not just your watches, but your values. Omegas left by my grandad is also one of the prime reasons me into horology. Thks fr sharing, sometimes, in this forum, we have really "out of this world" watches, both in complications and price, ...
