Very nice story and you did some excelent searching on the net to find Desmond's articles. I actually have a few 751 powered Omegas.. Most are Seamasters but I did get just one Connie...
The one in my collection is somewhat like Graham mention in one of his posts... 18k head , dial and bracelet. My example has almost NO wear and was never polished and retains all its hard edges and satin finish.
The bracelet is full size and I wear it very infrequently .....

I have a brown matt like strap on my connie now. Omega gave me a black sheen sheep thin sheep skin strap but I didn;t quite like that. will post a pic for you soon.

It stands for O'r Massif
which from what I can recall means you case is solid 18K gold. Mine micron plated hence the lack of OM.
