Omega re edition of the first wrist chronograph pictures.

Jan 24, 2019,01:31 AM

Here is what I found on the Omega Web Site some weeks ago...

Omega found in their drawers some good old Cal 18''' which they refurbished to house them in the super big and thick white gold case ( 47, 5 mm / 16 mm ). Mono pusher for the chronograph, at 6 o clock. Enamel dial.

Hunter case back.

Limited to 18 pieces only.

Two issues: The price: 120 000 CHF, and the dimensions of the case, which don't give the watch some superb proportions.

The enamel dial and the movement are to die for, on the other side...

Best,

Nicolas

So when zenith found the 5011k they should have asked 100k per piece?

... and no shock protection, perfect ...

... to end as a safe queen. Absolutely silly. I am sure it is possible to find equally nice movements in vintage pocket watches, where they belong into, at a tiny fraction of that price. Marcus

Well, although the movement components seem not new...

the work behind to maje them as in the pics are probably extrem! So I am not sure if the price is really that high!

I see a internal angle chamfered, so hopefully almost worthy of such a price!

He he he... [nt]

. . . eighteen 426 Hemi engines and matching chassis for '71 Challengers . . . . . . do you think they'd have a problem selling all of them at $3M apiece? ;-) The difference here is that the original recently uncovered Omega movements were intended for po...
