Hi Hans, I think you may have misread: it means "DRiver´s" and not "Diver´s", it is only water protected but not water proof and not usable for submerging it! The angled case makes reading the time easier when driving a car - maybe this is the idea behind... 

...I might still be tired after this weekend away... :-)' Sound very plausible as a Drivers watch...Others have done it with turning the watch, but why not this angling of the crystal... Best Hans aka Han(d)s on :-)
