Lemmy was, to say the least, a colorful character. I remember seeing him in the mid-'80s . . .

. . . at the Rainbow wearing an SS officer's uniform. And it wasn't just a pose . . . the outfit was authentic. At some point in the late '80s, he stopped dressing in Nazi regalia at the request of the Rainbow's management due to complaints.
So he switched . . .
. . . to more innocuous garb. The imagery was intact, but the overt manifestations - swastikas, SS skull rings, jack boots - were gone.
I met him only once (although though we rubbed shoulders hundreds of times), but I knew two guys - both guitarists - who were guests at Lemmy's condo right across the street from the Rainbow. Both said his living quarters were replete with Nazi memorabilia, including uniforms. He had an extensive library, most of which was devoted to the Second World War, but also other periods of history (and, interestingly enough, books about art).
That's the reasoning behind my surmise he would've preferred a German watch. Having just reviewed scores of images of Lemmy, though, I can't find a single one that shows him wearing any kind of watch.
