It doesn't make sense, no.
A lot of what you address includes the feeling that people have in their minds and on their wrists, along with marketing hype and illogical market pricing and manipulation.
I am not an expert at all when it comes to finishing and number of parts and jewels. I haven't a clue and am not fastidious about that aspect.
I know that when I like what I see, I am happy. Your Omega has served you well and that is what counts. Great to hear.
And with all of the haute holorologie with Patek especially, I have had more issues with Patek watches themselves and with the company's deplporable, arrogant service at boutiques.
More disappointment/frustration with Patek than with any other brand I have experienced. I sold all of my Pateks and am now happy with less "hauty" brands that also are a joy to own.
IMO, solidly built Omega, Rolex, and others, which might not be so "well finished" and "hand made" as Patek, last for years and years too, like yours.
I hope you continueu to enjoy that Omega for many more years to come.
