I bet it was not at that time. As far I am aware Omega 50 m is good for swimming in case your landing module sink and your have to crawl to the shore 😀

And this is the next generation Skywalker … ...

I don’t suppose …

A serious depth rating was top of the list of features for space flight at NASA or ESA. This watch is a technical marvel. Have you ever dived to 50m 😉

I’ve been swimming with my X-33 Skywalker …

Both in the sea and a pool. Absolutely no problem.

Definitely….

Avoid using the pushers 😱

No, never to 50m but I only take into water watches that are at least 100mWR (the description of 50mWR by the swiss watch industry is not very satisfying (no shower, no jumping!!))

+ Astronauts train in swimming pool. Need to check photos to see if they have the watches on their writsts!

Tim Mosso seems to think

That when omega says 50 they really mean "you can dive to 50" with this, instead of "this is a dress watch don't swim with it" I'm going to speculate here that the failure point might be the case and not any gaskets, as they might have made the back thinn...

Let me address this

My experience through talks with Robert-Jan Broer is his direct instruction from Omega that a person can swim with a 50-meter Moonwatch. This means surface swimming, not diving to 50 meters. Omega's confidence might or might not mean the 50-meter rating i...

Interesting…

The technician at the Omega boutique advised me on 50 meter speedmasters “don’t even shower with it” having said that I too rinse it with tap water.

Thanks Tim for the detailed clarification!

Appreciate your knowledge, as always!

Nah, not at all. ;)

I think it’s good that Omega

keeps its relationship with NASA and space flight even though I’m not a flightmaster fan…🫤

+1

I wonder what he'll do . . .

 By: Dr No : September 27th, 2023-18:30
. . . if the battery dies while he's in space. ...

He won't have to worry about "dropping" the battery clip and its tiny screw on the floor of his spacecraft, that's for sure

 By: cazalea : September 27th, 2023-19:55
but he might have to float around the capsule looking for them when they "launch themselves" into space
