Omega

Do they move at all?

Hi Patrick,

Do the hands move at all - have you tried 'forcing' them via the hand synch function?

Battery OK? It wasn't doing the 'jumping second hand' thing before stopping ?

These things supposedly have a reputation for draining batteries. I'd change that out (easily done if you are ok taking the caseback off, and have some plastic tweezers...) as a start. For a few dollars, you'll at least have that possibility off your mind. And by replacing the battery, you'll have done a reset on the movement as well...might help.

If you're adventurous, and the back's already off. You might try getting a multimeter in there, the ETA988/Omega1666 service manual is avail on the web, so you'll be able to check that the various modules are reading as they should. So you might get closer to diagnosing and determining whether it needs to go to Omega.

And finally:

Quartz watches gum up their gears, too. It might just need a clean and re-lube to get the hands working again....

Fingers crossed!
