Between you and me... Underwater photography is mostly fabricated, synthetic, and hyped up.

 

You need all kind of different artificial lights, filters, and tricks to get the super coloured pictures that impress the observers.
I like to reproduce what I see and, as much as I can, how I see it. Everything is greenish or blueish underwater. Both you and the subjects are unsteady, literally fluctuating, often too fast. Try to get to the bottom (or at least slightly under your subjects), if it’s no too far and too deep. Take the photo from down upwards. Carry a small led torch to lighten the creatures and capture their "true" colours.
