I’m not into paying premiums but this is those case when you have no choice. When the watch was released back in 2008, I wasn’t into watch collecting that much. For new and available watches, I won’t be doing such crazy move but for those that are gone fr...

This is very cool...

Looks like new...

It is like new, and the watch has a nice high number....

Papers dated 2012, so that’s one of those stories back then, these were sitting in the AD display.

Wooow

Really like the watch

The train has moved, but still slowly...

I was back in 2008 no watch collector. But always sideways interested in watches like the same with audio equipment and toy cars. Back arround 2008, i look for the first time high luxury watches like Rolex and Panerai. I discouver Longines, and my taste g...

Now I’m also like in the mid life crisis, almost wanting to buy many watches, lol...

Very cool Omega!

 By: BMR : August 9th, 2019-13:05
Congratulations on the new addition, my friend!

Thanks BMR....it’s a big leap of faith buying a watch unseen...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-13:25
Quite scary but private seller has been very responsive and following up so I felt much secured.

That’s seriously awesome

I love it. White dial Speedy’s are my favorite and rare to see!

The white dial Speedys do look very cool 😎

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-13:27
Snoopy, Tokyo 2020, Albino, Apollo 11 35th, etc are all nice.

Thank you for the kind words...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-13:28
I think this is still reasonably within inflation and the history of the watch.

Snoopy was like this one 3 years ago and now...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-13:31
I can’t take that kind of plunge today but luckily for me, I was able to get one in 2015 by the OB.

I know.... :( [nt]

 By: amanico : August 9th, 2019-14:55

Now that is actually something very cool to do‼️

 By: HSTE : August 9th, 2019-13:29
Congratulations! Cheers, HSTE

I bought this unseen and over the Pacific Ocean...

Absolutely Superb...

But your dog is not impressed😊. I am though.

This one is starting to age nicely, and will be a nice vintage soon...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-14:55
I think it will be a crowd favorite soon, or already has. Thanks Jay.

That´s a great purchase Raymond! Congrats! Fantastic timepiece...

... I share your thoughts with this model. I passed the opportunity in 2008 to buy it when visiting the paris Omega Boutique. Now I´m hunting for one example of this model. Eleven years later that my taste and collection has evolved I just feel I badly ne...

I knew you’ll like it Abel and appreciate your kind words...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-15:01
Looks like there are a few NOS samples still available but it’s “sky” high asking. I’m lowering my expectations a bit for these since it’s 11-years already so have to find a balance between what to get. I wish and hope you find yours too, and you’ve known...

My big pleasure to comment my friend Raymond! Yes, I have been searching and see rather concerned how prices keep going up. Guess it is the trend...

 By: Subexplorer : August 9th, 2019-15:43
... In our watch collecting world lately. How crazy this sport is turning! Thank you so much for your good wishes! I hope to find mine before they are beyond my budget! Again: big congrats on your catch and enjoy it so much! Abel

Awesome!!!

On my wish list for one day 🔥

What a find, congratulations!

 By: MichaelC : August 9th, 2019-14:59
You have some great Omegas, but this one is a real unique one. Enjoy it!

Omega does deserve some recognition for making nice Speedmasters...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-15:05
Although people might get tired of them milking it, think of it as giving varieties to the audiences. We just have to cheery pick what we want. Thank you for your kind words. Cheers 🍻

Superb !...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : August 9th, 2019-15:40
you did a good thing 👍

Congratulations Raymond...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : August 9th, 2019-15:58
The development of this Omega is fascinating.

Keep it as a long term piece...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : August 9th, 2019-16:05
you won’t regret it.

Ok....now this will go to the attic or safe :)

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-16:36
Nah, I'm going to send in for service it, then wear it. HAGWE, Cpt.

The Speedy to have...

big congrats, Raymond!

I can confirm your observation about these Apollo Speedies . . .

. . . sitting on dealer's shelves. I took this photo in 2010. Can't say for sure if it was the same one, but the Omega boutique in Beverly Hills had one on display for a very long time. Now, they're practically unobtainable. As they say in France, "Better...

But no...hence my actions. This one was from Switzerland, and previous owner was able to purchase it in Jul 2012 with a discount...he's happy to let it go with a nice "appreciation"

Dear Raymond, many congratulations my friend

And look at that Alaska minty condition ! A good hunting indeed. His brother says hello. Have a great weekend, and with this new toy, I am sure it will be Best regards to all home too ...

Hey buddy and fellow Alaskan Project owner...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-16:51
I’m pleasantly surprised of the conditions too. May I ask if you also find some small difficulty winding this watch? The crown is a little hidden under/inside the case, like Snoopy. Thanks for the well wishes and I need to put on those cool Velcro’s too. ...

Hi hi Raymond

 By: Seeks : August 9th, 2019-17:54
I don’t recall too much difficulty in the winding; although I would say some of my older speedmasters do wind tighter (than modern ones with cal 1861) and probably do need some servicing. Best regards

My snoopy winds quite crisps so maybe it’s the age...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-18:21
Or my fingers are sweaty due to the excitement 😬 Nevertheless, I’ll send in for service since it been at least 7-10 years now. Thank you.

Congratulations!

 By: reintitan : August 9th, 2019-17:40
I was offered one by the Omega Boutique at Greenbelt 4 mall in Makati, Philippines back in 2012, but I declined. What was I thinking?

Ahh...those good old days are over....

Back in 2014, I was able to choose blue or white Nautilus 5711, but I chose the 5726, lol....what was I thinking too!

The previous owner never uses the Velcro straps...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-19:44
Outer and inner box is in good condition too. Not NOS but >90%, so I’m happy. Thanks Kingston.

Congratulations on the successful hunt !

 By: ZSHSZ : August 9th, 2019-20:02
You really have a special edition within the oceans off special editions. It was on my list as well , but the list is always way to long and as you said : The train is living the station ... Wear it in good health!

Thanks very much ZSHSZ...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-20:56
From the response so far, looks like this Alaska Project is going to be very popular, maybe more so than the Silver Snoopy? Things come and go but I don’t want to regret later so...HAGWE.

White dial Speedies or Rolex seems to be some unicorn....

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-23:11
It’s now a crowd favorite for sure. I need to find some straps or NATO to swap out bracelet. Thank you Alex.

I agree. I really wonder when will this end and if it will end. Let’s see

 By: agyzace : August 10th, 2019-01:45
Again congrats on a wonderful watch!

It will only end when global stock market crashes and we’re in recession...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 10th, 2019-08:33
although I wish that don’t happen.

Could well be Raymond

 By: agyzace : August 10th, 2019-13:51
Have a good rest to the weekend, Alex

It’s coming...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 12th, 2019-17:55
but then maybe reverse will happen as more people plunge into this “hobby” or investment (sigh). Watches seem to be perceived as easy liquid and portable assets now. Thanks Alex.

Congratulation for finding near mint Alaska project

 By: hoseachandra : August 9th, 2019-23:05
I still regret back in 2010, there was one sitting in years in AD here, and they offered big discount but I declined and purchased a seamaster. Wish I could go back in time....

Thank you. It’s amazing how people’s taste has changed from 2008...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 9th, 2019-23:14
I wonder if this watch is still depreciating, will you regret? Sometimes I question myself if Nautilus or SS Daytona is 40% depreciated when we bought it, like many Omega models, will I still want it. Food for thought?

I dont care much for the resale value. I like this watch, but

 By: hoseachandra : August 12th, 2019-17:24
Back then I thought I still could buy it pre-owned at reasonable price, meanwhile I have other priorities, such as a diver, a dress watch, etc. Should I bought it and the market value drop, does not bother me at all. I have several watches that drops in v...

It’s admirable to be able to see past depreciation...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 12th, 2019-17:40
and just enjoy this hobby. I also have many watches like GP, BP, Omegas that took a nice hair cut but I purchased them for the same reason back then...enjoying. Cheers 🍻
