I do understand you and remember having been truly bored as well in 1991 - was more or less pushed into buying a 145.022 by an eager salesperson in Aachen (..as an omega collector you should have at least..). Since there was nothing else of interest I did so (possibly good 'trade" stuff..?) and found it a funny looking case when viewed from the side. After reading however about the connection Omega - Lémania, constructor Albert Piquet, visiting the factory in l'Orient and all the NASA-test stories, my admiration has grown and grown. For the last 18 years I'm perfectly happy with it. Enjoy your (iconic) piece! Ben.

Erich, that bezel is already pretty good!
Take it from someone who has seen literally hundreds of bezels in 60s speedmasters and that is easily among the best 20% of bezels I have seen.
