Two of my chronometers are away for servicing . . .

 By: Dr No : December 29th, 2019-16:35
. . . by an Omega specialist watchmaker, and I miss them both. [ Ca '46 Ω ref 2365] Just found this pic in my files, and thought to share it with our community. Handsome devil, he is ;-) . . . ...

This dial is just so extremely beautiful

 By: ChristianDK : December 29th, 2019-16:42
I love the font as well. I think you used to have on a grey strap?

Oh, the strap is grey, Christian - must be the cast of the image . . .

 By: Dr No : December 29th, 2019-17:29
. . . that brings it into the black range. I did get an authentic Omega buckle to replace the inauthentic one previously fitted, though. Details count. ;-)

Details like that are quite important

 By: ChristianDK : December 29th, 2019-17:41
Is it the type with the omega sign protruding from the buckle? This dial.... if you ever get tired of it, You will know where to find me It is really beautiful watch without any nonsense. Did mention that I am a sucker for central seconds...

Right on the money! . . .

. . . and I'll take higher-resolution pics tomorrow with a macro lens for your viewing pleasure. As far as parting with it goes . . . well, you've seen my license plate, no? ...

Here are pics taken with the same iPhone . . .

 By: Dr No : December 30th, 2019-10:42
. . . in daylight. Better? ...

Wow beautiful

That’s a good grey, new 👌

That plate rocks! [nt]

No, it's not period-correct, Nicolas. '60s vintage. Original . . .

 By: Dr No : December 29th, 2019-23:56
. . . 14 mm steel buckles for Omega chronometers are very hard to come by. Managed to find a correct 16 mm buckle for my ref 2366 chronometer which I'll photograph for you tomorrow. Best, Art

Here you go, Nicolas - a steel 16 mm buckle . . .

 By: Dr No : December 30th, 2019-11:46
. . . from the '40s. HNY, Art ...

Uh, I love this buckle! [nt]

 By: ChristianDK : December 30th, 2019-12:12

Here's hoping there's a jumbo steel chronometer . . .

 By: Dr No : December 30th, 2019-14:34
. . . in your future, Nicolas. Wearing my ref 2366 today . . . . . . with new cayman shoes to inspire you. Art ...

Beautiful, Art

How many cm is around your wrist? (Apologies for being so indiscreet) it looks similar to mine in the shape. Happy new year dear friend Christian

Around 16.5 cm, going by memory . . .

 By: Dr No : December 31st, 2019-09:11
. . . and order shorts - 100 mm x 80 mm - from my strapmaker.

Ah ok, mine is bigger then 19,5cm

 By: ChristianDK : December 31st, 2019-15:27
I always need xl straps. 120+90 which lines up with the extra 3 cm.

This has got to be the most beautiful Omega you have shown us...

By: India Whiskey Charlie : December 29th, 2019-17:26
Absolutely gorgeous in every way you look at it.👏

Beautiful . . . yes, but . . .

 By: Dr No : December 29th, 2019-17:32
. . . a bit of a problem child. Technical issues with this one . . . the reason it's going to an Omega specialist is to hopefully iron them out. HNY, Art

I concur

Though I would probably first strap on once of his lovely flightmasters.

Very handsome

Hope it’s back on your wrist soon. Happy new year, Art!

Thanks, Dom! As far as getting it back soon: probably . . .

 By: Dr No : December 29th, 2019-18:26
. . . not. The watchmaker taking care of the ref 2365 has a waiting list a mile long - I was lucky he took my projects on. HNY, Art

Good you have realistic expectations

 By: Brandon Skinner : December 29th, 2019-21:22
Happy New Year, Art, I hope you have a great one! Really love this piece you shared.

Can you tell me if it would be possible to get this repaired

 By: Reuven Malter : December 29th, 2019-23:42
directly at Omega? I heard often that Rolex is not doing a good job when it comes to repairing or servicing old watches - is Omega more customer-friendly in that aspect (just in case i really dont want to send it to an independent watchmaker) ? Thank you ...

Support your local watchmaker.

(assuming he is competent)

Yes, Omega will service all their watches, but . . .

 By: Dr No : December 30th, 2019-09:57
. . . they won't necessarily honor requests to maintain originality. They may polish a case or replace it, refinish a dial or replace it, replace hands even if they don't require changing. That's why I would rather not send vintage Omegas to their service...

Hope they'll be on top form on their return

 By: jml_watches : December 29th, 2019-23:59
Understand that the waiting is painful - one of my watches away for a service , estimate was 27 weeks. Hope once you have it back you can enjoy it for a long time. Cheers JML

The one rg chronometer he's serviced for me . . .

 By: Dr No : December 30th, 2019-01:02
. . . runs extremely well, so I've every confidence the two he has now will be in top form when they're done. Cordially, Art

Vintage heaven ...

In my opinion new watches just don’t feel the same on your wrist. Great Omega Art and I love the strap choice.

Even beer tastes better . . .

 By: Dr No : December 30th, 2019-10:21
. . . when a cold one's popped open . . . . . . with a vintage bottle wrench. ...

Urrr...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 30th, 2019-13:30
I thought that you were on a “soda” only diet 😮

Ah, I am on a beer-less diet - since June 24th. My comment . . .

 By: Dr No : December 30th, 2019-13:48
. . . was based on experience. ...

Well done Art...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 30th, 2019-13:54
Keep up the good work 👌

Here's a pic taken . . .

So nice.

One of the best competition based movements ever made.

It´s hard to part with our beloved watches dear Art! I know well! Fortunately you´ll have them back and working perfectly as each of these beauties deserve.

It is very nice to have an original buckle in our straps. Not easy to find them here in my hunting grounds. I hope you will be reveiving watches back soon my dear friend! Best! Abel
