Gorgeous design - I've been tempted by one of these myself!

You're not helping me keep my resolve. If you buy it, that's one less on the market to tempt me. ;-)

(Great size for your wrist, I might add.)

To pull the trigger...?

Happened across this Omega 1894 Homage today as I took my beloved Minerva Pythagore to a friend for repair (broken mainspring). No box or papers, but...mighty tempting... Thoughts? Best E. ...

No brainier .. go for it 👍

Just check on the movement first.

+1

Thanks! What’s to check on with the movement?

 By: Esharp : January 24th, 2021-05:06
It looks correct as far as I can tell (and works, phew)... ...

That’s fine ...

Thanks for sharing the photo.

You should grab it!

I've owned one of these :-)

I bought one NIB from an estate liquidator in Italy. I got lucky and didn't get scammed. It was areal treat. I was able to source the correct steel blue hands from Otto Frei. Just me, but they sure looked good with the navy blue gator strap I wore it with...

Do your poker buddies play pool, too? . . .

. . . we need new marks. ...

That’s an idea ...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : January 24th, 2021-07:15
You pool hustler Art ;-))

Na, not Art ;-)

 By: MikiJ : January 24th, 2021-18:09

Pool hustler? Who, me? . . .

 By: Dr No : January 24th, 2021-18:47
. . . nah. 😉

You know what they say...

If you walk in a room and you can't spot the sucker; you're the sucker ;-)

LOL 😎

The 1894 is one of, if not . . .

 By: Dr No : January 24th, 2021-06:21
. . . the , most compelling Omegas of the last twenty five years. There's one on eBay now located in Japan that might well find its way to my collection in the near future. Similar, but with deep blue dial treatment . . . the monotone dial on the one you'...

I don't think they play pool, but I'll ask ;-)

Do you remember walking me through this crazy purchase I made years ago? If you'll recall, big risk and an even better savings. I'm almost embarrassed to say what I paid ;-)

Don’t tell us ...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : January 24th, 2021-07:17
It would only be depressing news ;-(

Oh, I remember that episode well, Miki . . .

 By: Dr No : January 24th, 2021-13:03
. . . if I recall correctly, your 1894 was listed on Chrono24 (or was it eBay?) under a title where no one looking for an Homage would find it. We were probably the only two guys in the world aware that a NIB example was still available, twenty years afte...

I'll have to take a look...

Not to worry, I just blew my paper on a one owner Lange 1815 Up&Down. One dress up day/night watch is more than enough these days :-(

In that case, there'll be two watches accompanying me . . .

 By: Dr No : January 24th, 2021-15:02
. . . when I visit Cleveland. After all, they've got to induct Gary Glitter into the H of F sometime, right?

Aha!

 By: Esharp : January 24th, 2021-21:05
Interesting...this one, without box or papers, is being offered at $7k. I’ve hesitated as I thought it was too much...any ideas on market value? Best E.

We usually don't discuss valuations for potential acquisitions . . .

 By: Dr No : January 24th, 2021-21:14
. . . on the open forum. I'll message you privately, and invite other community members who would like to share their thoughts to do likewise. Best, Art

Thanks Art!

IMHO - 20% too much :-(

 By: MikiJ : January 25th, 2021-04:50

Thanks...

We’ll take it offline but afraid I agree... Best E.

Miki is right on target - my estimate . . .

 By: Dr No : January 25th, 2021-10:32
. . . was on the low side. Both sides of the transaction should be satisfied at 80% of the asking price.

Ask an Omega fan like i am

Yes is my answer. Let’s repair your Minerva, it is great too.

Not even a question

 By: Esharp : January 24th, 2021-21:02
Of course the Minerva has to be repaired and put back into rotation. It’s not particularly valuable but was a gift from my parents on my 21st birthday, which I chose after much research...it has more sentimental value than any other watch I have, except —...

superior watches

A good reason to baby your watches.

✅✅

Super classy

Really sweet dial

And the movement is great - really original as a proposition. If you need some gold in your life, definitely go for it!

Gorgeous design - I've been tempted by one of these myself!
