There are at least two different types
Of “1940” cases that Richemont Panerai use. One is thicker than the 6154 and is used by the 662, 587, etc.
The other case is pretty much an exact replica dimensions-wise as a 6154 especially the thickness. These cases are used by the 532, 622, 514, etc.
Here’s a comparison wiith from top to bottom:

By the way, just curious, how faithful is the 1940 case compared to this 6154 case? Or is it a whole different thing altogether

My feeling is that the 532, 622, 514 et al are based on the Rolex 6154
While the 662, 587 et al are based on the Rolex 6152 And the 372, 422 et al are based on the Rolex 6152/1
