Just got a brand new pan275 and it's been fully winded at the boutique, 8 hours later it just stopped running. After making some adjustments of the time it starts running again. This repeated about 5 times already, seems to be at random intervals. Getting... 

I assume this is a Panerai PAM275 you are referring to? A manual wind watch with 8-day movement and power reserve indicator? As you suspect, if the watch is wound, the PR indicator confirming that it is, then it should not be stopping. Regardless of what ... 

Thanks Andrew for your suggestion. The situation is a bit tricky. I got the watch in Barcelona, Spain on a Sat and realized the problem on Sat night. boutique closed on Sun and I m leaving the country on Mon morning which doesn't give me a chance to go ba...

When you wind the watch, was the power reserve indicator moving accordingly? When the watch stopped, what was the position(s) of the PR indicator? I have seen watches, having been stored for a long time, upon winding for the 1st time, showing erratic beha... 

It stopped 5times in first 2days with power reserve fully winded, for the next 1.5 days it ran fine till yesterday late afternoon. I winded the PR fully but it still didn't start, so I had to adjust the time to kick start it. another thing noticed not sur...

Day 7, by far the worst performance of the PAM275, it stopped so randomly and frequently in the morning that i lost count. Almost missed my train trying to figure out whether it has the correct time or not. I simply can't believe it, suppose to be a top b...

Don't worry, if all new and correctly stamped by your AD, your watch is under warranty, and will be repaired for free. Frustrating, yes. Best, Nicolas.

And now, no more problem. One stopped after one afternoon, and I had to wind to restart. Then after 20 mins, it stopped again. This went on for 3-4 days, but after the first week...all ok. Dun ask me why, but apparently , it's quite common for the PAM in ... 

Its been 4 days now, hopefully it will sort itself out soon. It's interesting why it happens, maybe some technical experts can share some light. AD is trying to arrange for it to be checked in Italy by another panerai AD since I left Spain already.

But 1) you MAY get a replacement watch or 2) it will be repaired, swiftly hopefully. Naturally 1 is better then 2. And I get your point about buying a watch overseas during holidays, a good and valid point. Haven't really thought about it, and it's potent...

cant rmb which model, but eventually they took the watches back and got a refund; money better spent elsewhere..... shouldnt they have quality control testing before they sell their products?! anyway hope you get it sorted out asap

did they try to fix it at all or they just gave the full refund

cant rmb i think one was 270; one was a 233 they got full refund but not sure whether they went through "fixing" stage so to speak it was annoying; sending a brand new watch for fixing?! it just didnt sound "right" i am not sure whether they were offered ...
