1/ apologizes, as I didn't know that you wanted to do a separate post on the Pre A..

2/ Thanks a lot for such a quality answer. It was a pleasure to read it and brought me back to the " Good Old Time ". 
3/ I would rather compare the Pre A 1 to the 5218-205/A so called " Submersible Slytech " .

But you're right when you mention the Pre A 4 and the Pam 40, as, indeed, we saw some Pre A dials on them.
4/ About getting it or not, the most important is that you knew what you bought, and that you were pleased with, indeed.
These dials are basically the same than their Pre V " brothers " at the exception of the writing " T- Swiss- T " which didn't exist on these last one, but which are very particular on the Pre A dials.
These fat numbers are really appealing, Sam.

I totally agree with your point 3. I guess that it is what makes all the value of some watches like Panerai or Rolex, in the Vintage world. But it is true that it makes a BIG difference when you look at the whole watch. I also understand your " reserves "...

I have 20 Panerais but if you were to take pictures of my wrist, of late, you'd photograph a 22B, 26B, 1A or a 201A LOGO... Tritium does you in, trust me....hahahaha Ciao - Sergio
