Panerai-less no more...
It’s been a painful 3 years since I sold my much loved 372. I regretted every moment of it. But every time I thought of either buying back the 372 or similar, just couldn’t justify buying the same thing again. I know, first world problems.
I then waited for Panerai to release something compelling, something that sticks with the bold 47mm size, and retains a design fidelity I’ve loved the brand for. It was a hard few years and I came up with naught.
The solution often, as they say, is right under your eyes. I’ve always been bigoted against the Subs, feeling they are a bit of heretics. And then I came across the 389. Something about its design clicked for me. It also helped that the recent Rolex sports watch craze took away some demand for the PAM, where I came across a new 1389 heavily discounted.
I’m happy again
