In the first picture....
the angle contributes to making it look a tad big. But the central picture is the one, the restores the balance. From the side the lugs "shoot" out of the wrist, whereas from the top it looks pretty ok to me. But even if it were a bit on the..abundant side...isn't that what a Panerai should be all about?

Yes, my friend, of course you are right about the natural Panerai abundance. I could see both the 372 and the 721 side by side and I had the illusion the 721 was a tad bigger.
Maybe because of the thinner bezel which makes the dial look bigger?

I think it has to do with the domed plexiglass....
that has a magnifying effect, much like the 294 or the 379 vs 232....on top of the "thinner" bezel...
