Panerai PAM337 42mm Radiomir "On-The-Wrist" Review

 By: pingtsai : February 28th, 2011-20:17
Panerai has a way of teasing and enticing the souls of small-wristed watch enthusiasts, even more so of the female ones. For a woman, especially a petite one, walking into a Panerai boutique is a little like Shaquille O'neal at a Mini dealership. There's ...

Thanks for the beautifully written review Ping!

My girlfriend is currently eying on either 337 or 338... So it's nice to hear a ladies' feedback on this watch... Thanks again for the review.. Cheers Sam

The 338 looks nice too!

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-14:49
My first choice was the PAM338 but it was a little more difficult to get that piece for review. The PAM337 ended up being equally if not more enjoyable to wear. Thanks for your comments and hope to see pics if your wife does choose one.

338 vs 337

 By: peregrino : March 2nd, 2011-09:24
What is your feeling after comparing these two? Pros and cons with each model? I am a little curious after having trouble deciding which to order... Best, Rob.

Excellent review

 By: grigo : March 1st, 2011-01:19
Many thanks it was great reading. Problem is that it is still to big for some women (such as my wife) who are more into watches that are under 40mm watches. Best regards, George

Big watches on small women.

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-14:54
Hi George! Thanks for reading and your comments. To be honest, the PAM337 would be just perfect (for a small woman) if it was 40mm. It wears smaller since it's thinner and is a Radiomir. The extra 2mm weren't a big deal and it worked and was comfortable b...

Nice review!!!

Thank You very much for this fantastic review! Very informative and beautiful photographs too. I am still waiting for my AD to call me about the titanium version (PAM 338) that I have ordered. Best regards Rob.

Lucky you!

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-14:57
...to have snagged one of the 338s! It's a very nice watch indeed. Congrats and thank you so much for your comments.

Great Review. thank you

 By: Tony A.H : March 1st, 2011-05:48
looks Great on your Wrist. and if i were you ? i wouldn't go Smaller than that. as you mentioned it, the Extra 2mm is not an Issue comparing it with the 159.(BTW. the 159 was my VERY 1ST Panerai :0))). the fact is that i found Radiomir Watches wear smalle...

You are absolutely right Tony.

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-15:00
The PAM337 does wear smaller than its width. I was doubtful that I'd be able to wear it at first when I saw the specs but it was fine after I strapped it on. I really enjoyed wearing it a great deal. Still loving my 159. Enjoy yours too. Thank you for you...

Great post! Thanks (nt)

Great review. Can't wait for the 338 to arrive for wifey.

Nice to see your review's Ping, and nice to see Anthony's 21 also.

Thank you!

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-15:02
And congrats to your wife on the 338. What a lucky gal! Would love to see pics of it on her wrist when it arrives

Great review! Thanks

Superb write up, Ping.

 By: amanico : March 1st, 2011-08:04
And you also included some fresh pics of the Pam 21! Anthony is too lazy to share with us this mythical watch. Back to the 337, it is, I mean the 42 mm case, the 47 mm Rad for Ladies. Big for a lady, but how pleasant once on the wrist! A lovely and clever...

He He, Anthony...

 By: amanico : March 1st, 2011-09:45
I was sure Ping took the pics. So you worked a bit! Best, Nicolas.

I'm always working in one form or the other :) [nt]

...and "stinky butt" too as my youngest daughter likes to say. lol But unfortunately, I do have to rely on his photographic skills which I am grateful for (less work for me). There is so much he is working on that I don't know how he keeps his head straig...

Looks perfect!

 By: ocwatching : March 1st, 2011-08:06
And you are so right about the "attitude" in wearing a PAM. I am sure the hubby must be thrilled for you to (hopefully) match his PAM 21! Great review and I will be forwarding this to the wife to read. She never really warmed up to my 190 as she thinks it...

It would be nice...

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-15:32
...to own a Radiomir someday. I still love my PAM159. Panerai watches just stick with you. Thanks for your comments and hope to see you guys at another gathering soon.

Awesome!

Well, Ping, what can I say? This is just the latest in the ever-expanding and beautifully-written catalog of reviews from you, that makes me wish for more, more, more! I am really attracted to the entire range of recent Panerai 42mm Radiomirs. They are ex...

Thank you Daos!

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-15:39
I always appreciate your comments greatly. The PAM337 was very nice. I think you would like it a lot too. And not too bad on the price with the stainless one. Hope all is well. We need to do Korean BBQ again sometime. I'm craving it. lol Thanks again for ...

Wonderful report, but

 By: emcquillan : March 1st, 2011-09:01
is the 42 mm Radiomir really only for women? I suppose Panerai is a class by itself in this regard. Best,

Absolutely not...

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-15:44
....for women only. I would think PAMs are in large part more for men. This one just happens to be one that a woman can wear comfortably Thanks for your comments.

Thank you [nt]

It sits nicely on your wrist indeed. The new P.999 movement looks great too. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Ken

Hi Ken!

 By: pingtsai : March 1st, 2011-15:55
Thanks for your comments. The watch was extremely comfortable too. I did like the sapphire caseback since my PAM159 is solid back. Thanks again!

Thanks , a very detailed report and nice photos......

 By: John HS : March 1st, 2011-17:59
Though i wonder what is taking OP so long to move out the 337. But again thanks for the report, u got me at interest . Regards John

Should be real soon....

 By: pingtsai : March 2nd, 2011-15:19
...that the 337, 338 etc hit the stores. Trying to find out and will let you know if I hear anything. Thanks for the feedback.

Wow, impressive review

 By: ED209 : March 1st, 2011-19:26
Another impressive review Ping! I really like reading your posts, it provides a very in-depth and well thought out review of the PAM 337. I thinks this watch is very versatile and can be either a woman's casual watch or a man's dress watch. If you had a c...

Thanks Ed and I agree.

 By: pingtsai : March 2nd, 2011-15:48
It is a versatile watch. It really is still more of a man's watch suitable for a woman to wear. Now adding diamonds would add a whole other dimension. I remember years ago Panerai did have some diamond encrusted LE models. i haven't seen any in a while th...

Thanks for the wonderful write-up...

Indeed a great addition to the lineup.

Very nice review, Ping. Thanks!

 By: AlexSunrise : March 1st, 2011-22:26
Hi, Ping, Great write up of an extremely appealing Radiomir, which I must say, looks at home on your wrist. Among the three versions, do you have a preference for one more than other? Thanks again, Alex

They are all nice....

 By: pingtsai : March 2nd, 2011-19:31
...and it depends on the look that one's going for. The stainless is nice and a little dressier because of the polished case. However, it may be a pain to keep blemish free. The pink gold is a more conservative to me. The titanium is probably the most des...

thanks, i love this review. [nt]

 By: patrick_y : March 2nd, 2011-15:16
Thank you for the review of the 337. I especially enjoyed the contrast to the larger 47MM PAM 021. It's ironic that although they are so many sizes apart, there is still so much in common between the two. This is truly a watch that can be worn elegantly a...

The PAM337

 By: pingtsai : March 2nd, 2011-19:41
I like how you describe the endeavors as "romantic" as opposed to stealing some of your glory, lol. Thank you for your eloquent comments Patrick as always.

My wife won't be tempted...
