I had one, long time ago and....
after a couple of months, I couldn't give it away fast enough. So much so, I "flogged" it on a work collegue (for a ridiculous hand-out on his part) the moment he said: "Uhmm not bad" 
I'd rather buy a Breiteling, they are the masters of the...super-stuffed...dials If you take the clean, quintessential dial away from a Panerai, what you're left with it's a Breiteling wannabe, anyway IMO of course Ciao

I enjoyed owing the pam233 many years ago.
It was my first panerai. But my love was not very long. Not so much that the 233 was not a beauty but the more i discovered the brand the more i was looking for the original DNA. Driving me to jump on on a few of the icons like the pam 127 and the pam217....
