after a couple of months, I couldn't give it away fast enough. So much so, I "flogged" it on a work collegue (for a ridiculous hand-out on his part) the moment he said: "Uhmm not bad" I'd rather buy a Breiteling, they are the masters of the...super-stuffed...dials If you take the clean, quintessential dial away from a Panerai, what you're left with it's a Breiteling wannabe, anyway IMO of course Ciao
It was my first panerai. But my love was not very long. Not so much that the 233 was not a beauty but the more i discovered the brand the more i was looking for the original DNA. Driving me to jump on on a few of the icons like the pam 127 and the pam217. Even the base pam000 spoke to me and joined the collection.
So that is my story. You already have two Panerai so tell us about what is inspiring you to choose the 233.
Thanks for your nice comments. I also love the true Panerai DNA in models like the PAM372, PAM55, PAM605, etc... Off course the holy grail for me remains the 3646.
But from the "modern" Panerai line the PAM233 is for me a nice icon, the brushed case, the manual movement, the sliding 8days indicator, the AM/PM (although the dotted version has more charm), the beautiful domed crystal and the high wearability inspired me.
Since I'm a bit worried about reported flaws with the indicator on the earlier PAM233 dotted models, I'm only considering the AM/PM version.
However, no desicions will be taken until after the SIHH, I look forward to attend the Panerai SIHH preview on Sunday Jan 17th.
I already know Sergio dislikes it much; but one of the very few 44mm with dome sapphire. A great modern panerai for those who like complications on a panerai
