Either is a great watch...

...but I would probably do the 127. Nothing says Panerai like a 47mm 1950 cased watch.

Good luck in your search and a big Congrats on your Bumble Bee smile

Folks, Recently, I sold all of my Panerais (used to have 233, 292j, 172, 104, 240, 332, 305, etc.) to focus my collection on select PPs, FPJs, and ALS. Recently, I strayed from my strategy and got an AP ROO bumblebee (it's wicked)... which got me thinking...

oh... and one other thing...

I also had a 26k but decided against getting any panerai with pvd or dlc coating... as they say one scratch and argh!

Either is a great watch...

BUT!!! being new to the Panerai world (waiting for the delivery of a Pam 338) it is nice to see that you are contemplating buying a Panerai. In spite of owning such exotic watches as Patek, Journe and Lange. Makes me think maybe my urge to own a Radiomir ...

The purists have spoken! 127 all the way... so surprised that the legendary (and mysterious) PAM 40b didn't receive a single vote. Thanks all for your time and opinions. Will post pics if I'm able to conclude the transaction! best, OpC

Glad to have contributed!

And hope to see the Fiddy back on your soon! Cheers Stephen

PAM127 for me hands down

And btw, I personally don't consider the PAM40B to be "legendary" at all so I wouldn't place it anywhere near the top of the list of Panerai's best of the best in terms of popularity for Panerai fans in general. Cheers, Anthony

Well

I guess my 1st question is did you get rid of all your panerai just so that you can be a bit more focused in your collection? What did you like/not like about your previous Panerai collection? Was the 47mm case size on the 305 a good size on your wrist? W...

Well, for me the 40!

You will have a superb piece of History, and a part of Mystery... Check the review I did on this watch, you will understand. But to make it short, even if the 127 is a superb and very tempting choice, the 40 has more appeal ( subjective ), and Mystery ( o...
