A true rare bird

In my whole collection the "big white" panerai is missing. Now I could go for a base, or a 563 or 188. Or...I was wondering about a Mare Nostrum, PAM07, 42mm. I have actually never seen or touched a Mare nostrum, but this white one has something.

What are the thoughts of the Paneristi ?

I like the size of it and a white dialed Panerai...well...it's not the obvious choice. Not an easy find.

That one was one of my early love.

I know that most of the Paneristis don't love it, but I do! It is so special! Best, Nicolas

I have a blue dial Mare Nostrum

They are pretty cool, and hard to find, very comfortable - i have another regular Luminor (311) which i wear more, but i see enough Panerai in my peer group in London, and if you like wearing something special that no one else has, the Mare Nostrum's are ...

Hard to find? Really?

I know a well known shop in Perth, Australia with a 006. They've been trying to sell it for a while and are open to sensible offers. Sure it doesn't have box and papers, but it's on the original blue strap with sewn in buckle

That watch is flawless.

Or darn near. I'd love to own one. M4

There's only one...white

worthy of a Panerai collection and that's the Pre-V 5218-207A (or the Italian one) signed by Sly Stallone who commissioned it. IMO of course ...

If he had mentioned...I want to buy a white Panerai...

I would have probabily written: buy one you like. But if he mentions...collection...not much of a choice there, the 207A is the only "albino" worth collecting. IMO of course

A 42mm chrono? Really? I know you love the MN but...

 By: sergio : June 18th, 2016-06:46
the "Italian" ones (Pre-V) ARE part of the brand's history, the..Swiss ones...not so much (if collection is still the..key-word..)

The MN PAM 6 / 7 and 8 have a lot of the 301, 302 and 304.

And they are Pre A watches. Best, Nicolas

If you like white chronos.... :-)

...

I just wanted to prove to you (and in general)...

 By: sergio : June 18th, 2016-11:27
that I'm not a..monodimentional...chappie. Jokes aside, when I wore it on the wrist (the 518) I was pleasently surprised by how..terse..was the dial full of everything. Amazing. I would never buy it, of course, but what a handsome model

LOL. ;) [nt]
