372

After agonising over it ever since it came out, the 372 finally found its way on my wrist a few months ago.
Now I understand why people go crazy over this brand.
I'm not sure that there's a watch design out there that is at once bold and simple.
I thought before that there wasn't much to its aesthetic being a two handed watch set against a vast expanse of black.. cataloged under the it's-nice-because-it's-simple popular thinking without even really appreciating its underlying appeal.
But there really is a lot going on and its amazingly cohesive.
In my eyes, the boldness lies predominantly on how all the curves (big curves at that) work in proportion to each other.
The way the plexi bulges over 47mm of real estate matches the bold strokes of the numeric indices matches how the crown guard curves on the side..
Now that I have one foot in the door, I'm now thinking about what Anthony said about having a 47 and a 44 to round out the experience.
The ones that come to mind for the 44... 000 or the 111. My only beef with the 000 is that I keep on thinking about the 201A. Granted that it's an unfair comparison and that the 000 has its own distinct place.. Well, we'll see.
Thanks for reading through my post. I know the 372 is not the PAM du jour and has been shown here oh so many times.. but I can't help but join the choir
Thanks to AT, Nico, Sergio, Bill for all the posts, pics, etc. Your comments through the years that this has been in the market has helped me appreciate the brand and the 372.
