Panerai 390 is my Everyday Watch

 By: Anu : August 29th, 2015-23:59
It goes to meetings with me. It shuttles my children around with me. It goes to the market with me. It goes to the stables with me. It goes to many children's activities with me. It is always with me. ...

Too true, too true and yet ...

 By: anaesdoc : August 30th, 2015-12:33
nothing is discussed more often than questions of taste :-)! Tastes are not altogether arbitrary in general, at least most gourmets would consider those restaurants more interesting listed in the Guide Michelin or prefer wines with a lot of Parker points....

I prefer..........

posts that sound natural, as though they have been written by real people - this sounds like it was wriiten by an advertising agency copywriter. ( I should know, I used to be one, and still teach copywriting) But perhaps that's what Anu does for a living?...

Hi Colin, hope you're having a good weekend.

 By: Anu : August 30th, 2015-09:37
I am an electrical & software engineer who later went into investing in the tech sector.

That statement is much better to understand than your "short form", Colin

 By: anaesdoc : August 30th, 2015-12:39
Why did you not write it down in the first place? After re-reading AnuĀ“s post I can now understand what you mean. But as things seem to be, you were wrong in your first impression. Kind regards anaesdoc

Why or How did that happen?

 By: MTF : August 30th, 2015-01:53
I assume your friend or partner was a Panerai collector, from previous postings. It is not the first brand for ladies to 'go to'; like IWC before. With these two Mens' brands, their ladies' models are few or non-existent. Regards Melvyn

Hi Melvyn & hope that you are well!

It's more than that

 By: MTF : September 4th, 2015-19:41
Anu, I can see how sharing watch passion with a spouse or partner may influence adoption of the same favourite brand. Panerai is still an uncommon choice for ladies. All that machismo. The current Mrs MTF and I swap watches all the time; I've even worn he...

Dear MTF,

 By: MTR : September 5th, 2015-02:29
that\'s really a very nice pink polo shirt . Eyebrows not raised. Truly honest! :-D All the best, Thomas

I was wrong about the AP chronographs

 By: MTF : September 5th, 2015-08:26
I found a multi-pusher chronograph that she "borrowed" during an elephant polo match. So, even my Audemars Piguet watches are not safe... Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Alinghi King's Cup Elephant Polo Championships 2010 MTF ...

Collecting watching seems to be a dangerous hobby...

 By: MTR : September 5th, 2015-09:07
How long does "borrowing" normally last? Longer than a polo match? Deeply concerned, Thomas

Hello!

 By: sham1 : August 30th, 2015-02:41
I have been reading your posts over the last week and must say you have good taste in watches and seem to have penchant for larger watches. I have been trying to scrutinise your wrist which is not so large so do you not find these watches too large r heav...

Dear Anu, from the pictures you post you are a beautiful women and you also seem intelligent and successful in your job. I also appreciate the breeze of fresh air you bring with you. But reading your posts I increasingly get the feeling that posing and pr...

Remember when you started

 By: MTF : August 30th, 2015-22:04
Dear Thomas, You wrote that you did not know Anu nor her motives. May I suggest looking back at her 'quite correct' introduction (that not all of us even do) and her explanation why she attempted to change from lurker to poster. "Hello Everyone! My name ...

Some thoughts...

 By: MTR : August 31st, 2015-10:24
Dear MTF, dear Imran, I take your words very serious. I didn\'t want to offend anyone. For me this site - and therefore I appreciate it very much! - stands also for thoughtfulness. And therefore I simply like it pure, truthful, "real". Imran, I am always ...

sergio I barely remember my early posts on this website but I do remember the emotions. Fear to come out from being a lurker and posting some stupido questions. Joy when the system accepted my posting attempt (no broadband). Gratitude when my stupid quest...

I think it looks great, and I think it brings up a topic about womens watches....

 By: ik2000 : August 31st, 2015-02:21
All brands are guilty of the same thing.... 'Oh, women must want a smaller watch, they must want some precious stones, they must want a mother of pearl dial!' I feel sorry for female watch enthusiasts, as I don't know any brand that takes that segment of ...

 By: japandeals : September 2nd, 2015-11:40
I just came back over the weekend to looking at the forum after a break of three years. Lots of new and good stuff. And then I see, an apparently wealthy and attractive woman posts some thoughts about her watches and the accessories she likes. She posts p...

I too am at a loss to understand the grumpiness...this isn't, and never was, meant to be "an old men's club" ... TM

Thanks for such wise words, Japandeals. Please, Anu, read...

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. To be perfectly honest, I felt a little hurt and decided that remaining quiet for a little while was probably the best thing for me to do. Please know that I mean no harm to anyone. Please know that I was ho...

Well said!

Dear Anu, One thing I have noticed with this forum is that one cannot make everyone happy all of the time and there will always be someone who looks at things from an angle we may have missed or that we are unable to comprehend with. I know it is easier s...

Dear Anu,

 By: MTR : September 3rd, 2015-16:06
I cannot speak for other critical posts you were confronted with. For my part, reading your today\'s posting where you showed your own feelings openly and very likeable, I\'m afraid I made a mistake and posted my first impressions too hastily. I didn\'t w...

Hello Thomas

I am very happy to hear from you. Thanks for your very warm and kind hearted letter to me. Please, you need not apologize to me. It is clear to me that you have a very good heart and that this was just a very simple misunderstanding. Of course I would lov...

Glad you're back!

As they say, you cannot please everyone in the crowd. It's like a rites of passage; get through this and you'll be fine. Believe it or not, most of us have been through it when we first joined but there are enough decent folks here to make it all worth th...

You behaved with class out here Anu. Unfortunately that can't be said of some others.

 By: watchthatman : September 3rd, 2015-19:43
Nothing can excuse some of the posts in this thread - it's not a hazing you should expect, it's not a rough time that you should put up with. One thing I love about this site is that the people have been so welcoming, and it's one of the rare sites where ...

I'm glad to see everyone in peace now

 By: edwardwchang : September 18th, 2015-13:32
anu's wrist is probably bigger than mine (6.25") and the 44mm luminor case of the 390 looks fine on her as it did on me before mine was stolen (number 148) as for some of the comments on this thread about anu's vogue-ish thread, watches are absolutely a f...
