Montblanc

One thing that always strikes me about Montblanc watches is just how "likable" they are. Whether it's a prestigious Villeret, Classic Star, or sporty Timewalker, circulating among the tables at a watch event, a Montblanc timepiece is like the known "good ...  

You managed to sum up the character of Montblanc watches in one word. That\'s as great as the watches themselves.

I kept trying to think of a good way to describe the feeling I get from Montblanc watches. I hardly ever have anything that I don't like about them. Do you have a favorite MB? Thanks for your comments.

There was not this date which kills the 3 Roman number... I know, I know, marketing rule... But... Still... For the rest, the movement decoration is coherent with the price of the watch, the case is not bad, and the dial, with the above mentioned reserve,... 

I guess the date window didn't bother me and you are right that most of the public will probably prefer the date for practicality sake. Only PuristS would prefer not to have the date. I also thought that overall, it was a good design and a pretty good val... 

And I feel the likable comment sums it up extremely well. While I would have preferred it without a date, too, 99% of the actual buyers of the watch probably see it as a feature, so it\'s an understandable decision An excellent starter watch for those on ... 

It's always interesting how brands will have their mainstream cash cow products that help generate revenue and then make it possible to create the more exclusive refined masterpieces. So for that, the Star Roman strikes a good balance in my opinion. It's ... 

Pieces like these are absolutely essential for many brands and I feel it is great that due care and attention is devoted to them at MB! Hat off

Thank you for pointing that out. It's a slight break in design. I suppose it's minimal enough that it doesn't disrupt the flow and balance but I question whether it was absolutely necessary. Thank you so much for your comments.

Thanks for the review Ping! As far as the date window, I like how the date window isn't just a simple plain cut out of the dial. This MB date window has a 3-D cut so the date window looks integrated smoothly. I wish more brands did this same thing because... 

I noticed the beveled edge of the date window and it's one of those small details that actually makes a big difference. It also adds to the three dimensional quality of the dial. It's all the little details about this watch that together add up to a great... 

Is actually quite popular in Singapore! I have 2 friends/colleagues who bought it last year (the central sweeping hands version). What they love about their Star Roman watches are the blued hands, guilloche dial (you are right Ping, the dial has more dept... 

That's great that it seems to be a popular watch and I'm not surprised at all. I did wish that the blue of the hands came out better in my pictures. I wasn't able to capture it very well with my camera so if you do get another chance to snap a picture of ...

Love the finishing on the dial!

.. Live the central Guiloche and the leaf shaped hands; as you rightly pointed out, light will make them get alive, when the watch is tilted or light source moves.. Another asset for me is this onion shaped crown, also a design code signalling " solidity"...
