Very comprehensive "sum up" review & nice pictorial !.. I agree, this is a solid entry level timepiece with classy design features !..
.. Live the central Guiloche and the leaf shaped hands;
as you rightly pointed out, light will make them get alive,
when the watch is tilted or light source moves..
Another asset for me is this onion shaped crown, also
a design code signalling " solidity", even Vintage-like
sort of..
On a personal note, I may be one of fewer PuristS,
not being disturbed by the date, in fact the opposite..
And yes, a little bit more finishing on the rotor,
might have been a goodie, but not more for this
basic movement..
You so well summed it all up with "likeable".
