And I feel the likable comment sums it up extremely well. While I would have preferred it without a date, too, 99% of the actual buyers of the watch probably see it as a feature, so it's an understandable decision 
An excellent starter watch for those on a budget but not yet secure or knowledgeable enough to delve into vintage...

I guess the date window didn't bother me and you are right that most of the public will probably prefer the date for practicality sake. Only PuristS would prefer not to have the date. I also thought that overall, it was a good design and a pretty good val...
