Good point about the date window.
I noticed the beveled edge of the date window and it's one of those small details that actually makes a big difference. It also adds to the three dimensional quality of the dial. It's all the little details about this watch that together add up to a great watch for the price in my opinion.

I guess the date window didn't bother me and you are right that most of the public will probably prefer the date for practicality sake. Only PuristS would prefer not to have the date. I also thought that overall, it was a good design and a pretty good val...
