I guess I won't be diving with my new Navy Seals Alarm...
After the initial joy and jubilation of receiving my MC Diving Alarm Navy SEALs yesterday I did a more thorough check of all the functions of the watch and found out that the date isn't functioning properly. When you try to change the date the cogs of the wheels don't connect correctly, seemingly on a random basis. You can hear/feel it, the date won't move forward, and after some additional turning of the crown, it connects and works OK again. Only to repeat itself after a couple of more turns.
Best to nip it in the bud, so the watch is going back to the AD and then onto JLC but unfortunately I cannot bringing on my vacation to Mexico starting this weekend, which I really had been looking forward to dive and snorkel with it. I'll grab one of the Rolex divers I have instead.
This is not a big issue in the grander scheme of things, however, it is unfortunate timing-wise and this was my 1st JLC purchase. So much for 1000 hours testing.
I've had problems with Panerai and some other brands as well, interestingly enough my Rolex sport watches have never given me an ounce of grief...
C'est la vie!

But why don't you take it for your holidays, then give it to JLC after? Agreed, Patrick, this shouldn't happen, but I don't know any brand which didn't have its lot of issues. Keep us updated! Best, Nicolas

...then I'm serving a used piece, which can lead to either very long service time (I had a Panerai be gone for over 4 months for a trivial warranty repair) and they might refuse to provide me with a new catch if it turns out that my copy is a lemon. Not w...

In fact, I also had to return my brand spanking new NSA with a very low 2-digit number the same day I got it. No mechanical fault, as far as I know, but there where super luminova residue all over the alarm disc. On the brighter side, I got a brand new wa...
Sorry to hear that!

This had happened to me two weeks ago when I bought the VC Overseas Chronograph and the Rolex SS Daytona. The VC chronograph did not function properly though it is a new watch. My AD had to send it back to VC for repair. Interestingly, the Rolex Daytona f...

Thanks for all the encouragement. It does suck a bit, but in the grander scheme of things I'm taking my family to some vacation, everyone is healthy and excited about it. After all, it is only a watch and it is only a temporary set-back... My AD is orderi...
