Congrats to you for getting your hands on this much awaited watch. Looking at the pictures of waht are, from I understand, final versions of the watches, I am a bit surprised to see that in the end they are unchanged compared to the prototypes shown last ... 

Some answers to your ( as always )very valuable input: This is actually the replica of the 1968 model, not 67, as the 67 comes with applied numbers ( 6, 9, and 12 ), and the Date Window is circled, too... So, this is the ' 68 Re Edition... I agree with yo... 

- E859 from August 1967: 'Fat painted luminous index' : - E859 from the September 1965 batch: Applied number AND luminous dots : (Note the extremely charming gild writings too...) Another one from September 1965 too, same config: And similar config too on...

this excited about a watch in a very long time...the Boutique edition looks fantastic, i am very happy that JLC decided to silver up the numbers on the bezel...made the watch perfect...and elegant for a sport watch and the 68 is a classic in every sense o...

The color of the indexes of the new one is very close to the Patina of this Old Toy... Best! Nicolas

I find that faked patina a little disturbing. It looks just that, fake and mismatched with lume on the hands. A couple of questions concerning the re-editions: 1) Do they use plexi crystals? 2) How faithfully does the case construction match the original ... 

If you have a look on the Vintage Polaris, you will see that most of them are non matching, as the coloro of the indexes is not exactly the same than the color of the hands... But I agree that the non matching on this one is stronger than the original, ob... 

Hi Nicolas, Thanks for the reply. The problem is that the difference in lume is unlikely in a brand new (original) Polaris. For sure, hands and dials do have a tendency to fade or discolour in different manners, but not as presented on a new watch. Hence ... 

Please BLDJ, may you be a bit clearer with me, as I don't understand very well what you really want ( my poor english )... What do you mean about bainoet style case back? Are you serious when you want to know the layout of the pinino gear that drives the ... 

Hi Nicolas, On the old EPSA cases, instead of a screw-in caseback, the caseback was an approx. 1/4 turn to lock down on the o-ring. Three slots on the caseback engage with 3 tabs on the case itself. Concering the pinion: One of the drawbacks of the old ca... 

As for Compressor Cases, There were: The Polaris, the Vulcain Nautical, the Universal Geneve Polerouter Sub, and the Longines Diver... These are the 4 which come immediately to my mind, which used the Piquerez Patent, registered in 1956. As for Technical ...

is actually very nice... although i will more than likely have a tan leather strap made for it, with holes ofcourse... and then have it distressed to make it darker like the indexes.... could be a nice weekend project...

Nicolas, I ordered a Polaris, steel, and the dealer keeps on pushing the dates. Do you have any clarity when they should be delivered across Europe? Best, C

The first one landed the 21 st at the Paris Boutique. JLC confirmed me that others will be delivered in Eurpoe and in the rest of the wrold at the end of this month, and at the beginning of December... Let's say 2/ 3 weeks, to be sure? Best. Nicolas

Congrats for your six new crowns Nicolas. But you are a weak man, you couldn't choose between the 1965 and the 1968 modele so you took both ;-) I was in Basel yesterday, and in one of the JLC AD, there was a JLC exhibition. A fully functional prototype of...

It's very complicated for me to choose for one main reason; I haven't had the chance to see a 1968 in real. However, based on the pictures I have seen, the 1968 model has a major drawback. I don't like the "fake" patina. I considered several times bying a...  

The only problem is that the Luminove won't age like the Tritium did... So 10 or 20 years after, it will have the same color, and then, it won't be what it is really... LOL I know, the argument is a bit " déloyal "... The main thing is to know what among ...
