.. a pragmatic decison.
When the TT Geophysics 1958 came, I chose the ss/ Crosshair one:
clear lines, a nice contemporary size ( yes, my friend Blomman),
and otherwise a rather cool 3-hand, and my crush on crosshairs
- I don't mind the "faux patination" on the hands, as that adds a
warmth element to an otherwise rather cool timepiece.
- Also like the luminous dots on the inside rehaut of the bezel,
not on the glass inside.. A smart feature, leaning towards the Vintage one..
For me this Geophysic 1958 is a sportive watch but with an
effortless elegance & an unobtrusive presence.
Having said so, from the next year's offer, I really enjoyed to fall for the
Universal Time, with the 772 movement, the gold rotor, the nice
logo-shaped balance wheel and a really superb dial !
- The True Second never was a serious thought for me, also as
I already own another Deadbeat, 3 handed Watch in my Rolex 5665..
But back to the UT: was also clear, that if succumbing, it would have
to be the ss UT version, as generally I'm a no-gold guy..
Just own 1 RG watch a JLC Geomatic - some DNA also there !)
That UT dial was mesmerizing me from the early moments of look & feel,
and I still love to look down on the continents and seas, cities & times,
being fond of the 3D effects in shades of blue & silver.
Sorry, my lengthy dwellings,
can only say, never regretted my choices and I cherish both these
Geophysic-type watches, which never are and never should
pretend to be a " real" Geophysic.
Simply said: I love the metaphor, the time-journey and
the pleasure these exhibit to me..
Just my humble 2 cents..
Cheers & Best,
hs
