Jaeger-LeCoultre

update on my JLC master compressor (if anyone is interested....)

Thanks to all the ?right advise from the PPRO's on my last post, i purchased my first JLC at the end of 2010.

however, i have had two problems with it. And it's been a real disappointment as it was my first JLC with high expectations.
I write this post to both inform of my experiences and also to see if any one had a similar experience with good outcome or advice.

My problems with the watch is as follows:

1. The chronograph second hand - not lining up to the 12 o'clock. When the chronograph is reset, it will either line up, or return just past the 12 O'Clock mark on either side.

2. Losing time 3~4 seconds during wear through out the day and 5~7 seconds when left overnight. This is despite being fully wound and i have made sure that it is fully wound.

While overseas, i had an opportunity to drop into JCL (richmond) repair shop with the watch.
They said the second hand needed replacing and the part will require ordering and it will take about 3 months. so no problems there. But none the less, with the 1000 hour control test, why was this watch ever released?

regards to point number 2, the watch maker placed it onto the machine and apparently it registered as it being +1 second.

I understand this is not a quartz watch, and although not chronometer certified, it's at the level of a chronometer, and i also understand there are tolerances in relation to time loss/gain and the time lost is well within this tolerances. But i really can't live with a watch that runs slow, rather i can live with a watch that runs fast.

This has been a real let down. My daytona now seems so much more robust and accurate.

Is this a common problem and easy one to fix?
with it registering as +1second, will the service centre adjust it to run so that it runs fast in real life?

As we speak, i have returned it to my dealer and it has been sent off but the deal advised me it will be at least 3 months a so.

So having purchased a brand you JLC, i'm without it for at least 3 months with uncertainty of it's time keeping accuracy.

any experiences anyone?

cheers
J
