Congratulation, Nilo! :) Your first JLC clock? A very nice piece I still miss... Here is a scan of the 108 in the 1965 German catalogue. And again in a 1967 All Recital catalogue. JLC had a quite large series of Recital clocks during the 60's. .... Maybe ...

Great clocks, Nicolas! Yes, JLC did a lot of different clocks in many different shapes during the 50's and 60's. Just look at this ad from the 1962... Not only different shapes... JLC did a lot of strange details on these clocks that puzzles me a lot... J...

In the Wikipedia article about Roman Numerals there is a section on the use of IV and IIII on clock faces. The clock on the Westminster clock tower (aka Big Ben) - probably the most recognisable clock face in the world - uses IV.

Hi Archy, Yes, the Big Ben and many others used the IV. But, what puzzles me here is that on (almost) all clocks from this time JLC uesd the IIII. Like this, 1952. Best Blomman ...
